I've been completing thrift store makeovers on the blog since I started in 2012. It's not only a great way to decorate your home on a budget but allows you to create a home unique to you.
It's thrilling to come across a good deal. I tell you….if you like get it. Chances are that if it caught your eye in the first place, it will be gone on your return.
I like supporting my local thrift store, but I always enjoy popping in stores when we travel if driving.
You never know when you might come across that great deal.
Flea markets are also a great place to find some treasures. We were fortunate enough to come across a few on our European travels. There are some fabulous deals to be found if only I had the room to bring some of the art home that we came across recently in Amsterdam.

Such a fun idea for a small tabletop Christmas tree! The bucket can still function as an ice bucket or plant bucket. You'll find a great tip in this post for getting worn wood finishes to look great again.
Look through sweaters for 100% wool! You can then create leaves like these or even holly leaves for Christmas to decorate with, make ornaments, or even gift-wrapping embellishments.
Old out-of-date printed art is the perfect candidate for this project! It takes a little effort to make it look a bit creepy for Halloween.
This is such a simple idea for an old plant stand. This one was a little too rickety to use as a plant stand, but to hold a cool drink on the patio....perfect!
You won't believe how this stool looked before! This was a great score at an antique barn. With a little elbow grease and some thrift store fabric..... it has a new fabulous look!
A little secret weapon that I use with dated dark or too-gold decor is to give it a quick whitewash. You won't believe how easy it is!
